Note:
This is an iconic, and wonderful oversize Pop interpretation of an entry ticket celebrating the fifth New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center, NYC, held from September 20– 30, 1967. The edition of this poster was limited to 200 impressions, which were signed and numbered by the artist using an engraving tool on the verso of each print. A very unique use of handwork appears in this special edition run- a perforated line runs across the surface of the print, at its triangular cut out sides, mimicking the tear line present in real commercial admissions tickets. The paper editions do not have this perforations only in print, also the die cuts are printed. Chiron Press devised a special process to imprint the edition with this perforation using a die cut stamp.
