Note:
This large-scale, vintage, original poster produced in the late 1970’s originates from the estate of Andy Warhol. Pushing the boundaries of what was then considered acceptable in cinema, Andy Warhol's Bad tells the story of a New York housewife who runs both an electrolysis business and a hit-man service in order to keep up with household bills. As with Warhol's paintings of death and disaster, Warhol forces the viewer to reckon the commodification of tragedy with the painful, dark underbelly of life in America. Starting in 1963, film became a fixture of Warhol's prolific practice resulting in his production of hundreds of movies and establishing him as one of the most influential, avant-garde filmmakers of his generation. This is a unique opportunity to purchase a rare and out-of-print poster directly from Warhol’s own personal collection. Proceeds directly benefit the non-profit charitable organization he founded.
